Castello di Casalino

The Castle dates back to the mid-14th century. Since the 18th century and until a few years ago, it belonged to the noble Leonardi family of Novara. It is currently uninhabited, but is still well preserved. Of particular interest are the villa and the splendid park. Above the main gate, the seat of the ‘bolzone’ (beam to move the drawbridge) is still visible. A flight of four red brick arches recalls a second building, the lower wall of which is authentic. To the right of the entrance tower, the northern wall of a castle building can be seen, in which the former guard path with its low arched openings is evident.
