Villa Maioni Park in Verbania Pallanza

The villa, which now houses the Municipal Library, was built in 1925 by Pietro Maioni, a textile industrialist, and his wife Emilia Roveda, to a design by architect Giuseppe Baroggi. It bears witness – like most of Verbania’s villas – to that specific period between the 19th century and the early 20th century to which the development of modern holidaying is attributed.

In fact, the taste of the time suggested the construction of villas owned by local families, with characteristics similar to holiday homes, isolated, immersed in the greenery of well-kept gardens and well integrated into the surrounding environment. The park, which covers an area of 30,000 square metres, is criss-crossed by walkways around the villa and still has valuable tall trees. The park of Villa Maioni is the venue for numerous cultural events and civil weddings can be celebrated on the large terrace of the villa.
